To make it safe and friendly for children… ok.. this keeps circling in my head. Why?
Because I don’t want children on Tumblr.
I don’t want them exposed to child pornographers, and I myself would castrate such creeps personally if I could, but I don’t want CHILDREN on here at all. Go play somewhere made for children.
I don’t care that Tumblr isn’t a “family oriented” platform. No shit. That’s one reason I came here, one reason I loved it. I didn’t have to worry about offending little kids, because they weren’t fucking allowed.
I’m still going to say fuck and shit, and no I will not watch my language.
Rant about to begin… so if you don’t want to read it skip from this point on.
None of these ‘bans’ is going to change who or what I am.
I actually find myself more pissed off today… after a few conversations with women who are my friends and how the whole thing has made them feel, and after it’s all had time to simmer and cook in my brain.
This ban says women are objects– Sexual objects to be hidden away, forbidden, naughty, inappropriate, not worthy of admiring unless fully clothed and hidden away.
It’s saying men can not be trusted to see a female “presenting nipples” because we aren’t mature enough to do so without inciting us to… what? Objectify them sexually or worse?
And God forbid anyone underage know what a breast looks like naked if they should stumble across one.
So we ban them. Teach our children who shouldn’t even be here in the first place that boobies are bad.
Make them even more naive… easier targets, because uneducated, oversheltered youth fall for predatory shit easier… It’s true.
Sex becomes a taboo again. Hush. Don’t speak it, don’t tell and for fuck’s sake don’t Show it.
What the fuck is going on that we are all being pushed forcibly backwards in time where women are objects, racists and bigots run rampant and rapists get off the hook because boys will be boys?
And omg don’t get me started on LGBTQ because they are being shoved back into their closets and their rights are being stripped faster than a stripper’s clothes in Vegas.
And Tumblr used to be a ‘safe’ place for expression.
If you don’t want to post NSFW fine… great… I like and follow both vanilla and not vanilla. If you aren’t into NSFW fine… No one is making you look at it. Don’t follow if you don’t want to see it. If NSFW follows you and you don’t want them to, block away… porn bots need smashed to a billion pieces if that were possible and I don’t think many would disagree… but censoring everyone for some is just asinine.
And yet racists, homophobes and Nazis get to stay cos ‘free speech’. Fuck you. Hate speech should never be ‘free speech’.
And yea I’m pissed off and if you’re offended… then hit unfollow because I don’t want pansy ass puritans following me or racists or homophobes…
My Tumblr will not be a playground for kids. I will ban every single underaged follower regardless.
